Last updated: 09-12-2026 — draft, pending legal review
1. Information we collect
- Contact information: your mobile number, and an email address if you choose to provide one.
- Identity verification data: if you're a new guest at a venue offering automated verification, images of your identification and a selfie photo, processed on our behalf by a third-party identity verification provider.
- Payment information: your payment method is collected and tokenized by our third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Session and transaction data: the venue and dispensers you use, the products poured, amounts charged, and session timing.
- Technical data: basic device and browser information needed to operate the site.
Biometric information. If you complete automated identity verification, a scan of facial geometry derived from your selfie is used by our identity verification provider solely to confirm it matches your identification. Some states, including Illinois, Texas, and Washington, have specific laws governing biometric information. Where those laws apply, we will provide the additional disclosures, retention schedule, and consent those laws require, in addition to this policy.
2. How we use this information
- To verify your age and identity, where automated verification applies
- To open, manage, and bill your tasting sessions
- To send a one-time verification code, and, if you opt in, your visit summary by text or email
- To detect and prevent fraud
- To respond to comp or refund requests, including on behalf of a venue
- To provide venues with aggregate or de-identified reporting about their own offerings
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
3. Text messages and email
We use your mobile number to send a one-time verification code by text message. If you opt in, we may also text or email you a link to your visit summary at the end of a session, or when a session expires. We do not currently send marketing messages by text or email, and have no current plans to do so. You can reply STOP to a message to opt out of that message type. Message and data rates may apply.
4. Who we share information with
- The venue where you open a session, limited to what's needed to operate your session and to handle comps or refunds
- Our identity verification provider, for age and identity checks
- Our payment processor, to process and hold payment for your sessions
- Our cloud hosting and messaging providers, to operate the service
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data retention and ownership
We retain records of your sessions and transactions as business records, including to support accounting, dispute resolution, comps and refunds, and future reporting features for venues. This transactional and usage data is owned and retained by Wineemotion USA. Where a law requires us to delete specific personal information on request, we will do so subject to any legal retention obligations that apply.
6. Your choices
You can opt out of visit-summary messages at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to request access to or deletion of it, subject to our legal retention obligations. To make a request, contact us using the information below.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including relying on established third-party providers for payment and identity verification rather than handling that data ourselves.
8. Children's privacy
This service is intended only for people of legal drinking age and is not directed to, or knowingly available to, anyone under that age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date above when we do.
